The World Eye Hospital plans to expand in Europe
Posted on Wed 4th February 2009
The World Eye hospital is the world’s first specialized eye hospital.
Founded in Istanbul in 1996, it is now world’s largest eye hospital with 120 eye surgeons. It performs 9000 eye-treatments per month, including 500 laser treatments, over 7 locations in Istanbul.
With growing numbers of patients from outside of Turkey it has opened eye clinics in Amsterdam and Berlin. In these clinics it performs the preliminary examinations of foreign patients before they undergo surgery in Turkey. Five more clinics are planned in Turkey and new clinics in several EU countries.
Upon examination, only those patients who are recommended to have surgery are offered a complete service package. This package includes travel, transfers, accommodation, a city tour, assistance, eye surgery treatment and medication.
